Hamilton
Airport
The airport is located 14 km south of the city. Take the
Tamahere turn off and turn under the main road, heading
west. Follow Airport Rd and the signs to Hamilton International
Airport (approx 4kms down this road). It is New Zealands
fourth largest airport. International
flights are operated by Freedom Air between Hamilton and
three Australian destinations - Brisbane, Gold Coast and
Sydney.Domestic
flights to and from Hamilton are operated by Air New Zealand
and Sunair.
PARKING
Hamilton International Airport's main carpark, directly
outside the terminal, accommodates both short term and long
term carparking. This carpark is fully automated, therefore
accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Short
Term
Parking is free for under 30 minutes. You pay $3.00 for
30 minutes to 1 hour, with an hourly charge of $3.00 thereafter.
The maximum daily charge is $20.00 .
Long Term
There is no need to book, you simply turn up on the day
of your departure. The entry barrier issues a ticket upon
entry to the carpark, and when you return from your trip
you take this ticket to a pay station. There are three paystations,
two located in the centre of the carpark, one immediately
outside the terminal. Paystations take credit cards, notes
and coins and do give change.
The carpark is monitored by security camera, and fully lit
at night. Our Fire Rescue and Security Officers patrol the
carpark regularly.
The carpark costs NZ$20 per day, with a maximum monthly
charge of NZ$95 per stay.There is a lost ticket charge of
$95.00.
Transport options
Shuttle
Approximately $17 for one person, $22 for two - about 20
minutes
A
shuttle is a cost effective way to travel into the city.
Discounts apply if two or more people are travelling together
- approximately $5 per additional person. Shuttles are normally
shared with other passenger groups. The journey can take
up to 35 minutes at peak traffic times or when there are
several drop-offs along the way. Allow plenty of time to
reach the airport for departing flights. Taxi
Approximately $40 to $50 - about 20 minutes.The
journey between the airport and central city can take
up to 40 minutes during peak traffic times. If youre
travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow
plenty of time.

Major rental car companies have offices at the airport.
