Waitangi Visitor Centre

The Waitangi Visitor Centre is located right in the heart of Waitangi. A 5 minutes drive from Paihia will have you in the most significant historical place in New Zealand.


The Waitangi Visitor Centre and Treaty House are on the same grounds. Everything to do with Waitangi is housed here. The visitor center has recently been redeveloped. It has a striking front entrance, and new carpark.

Entry is around $20 for an adult, but if you are a NZ citizen entry is Free. Remember to take NZ Drivers Licence or Passport or you'll have to pay. The vistor centre itself has numerous displays in Museum format. Many Maori artefacts are available to view.

The Waitangi Visitor Centre is not Government funded so they rely on entry fees and donations. Please remember to respect the area by not littering. You can read more about what you'll find on the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
